"Atomic Oasis" was inspired by a hike through Palm Canyon and the Stone Pools near Palm Springs, California, and is framed in the shape of an atomic ranch structure. This piece celebrates a true desert oasis of native palm trees set against the mid-century architecture and holiday escape culture for which the area is famous. Atomic-era design evokes a time when our culture was filled with hope for science, space exploration, and innovation, and those same optimistic mid-century colors are woven throughout the composition to capture that spirit of dreaming up a bright, imaginative future.
