Join local artist Jennifer Peart for Fantastic Fungi Watercolor Workshop, a hands-on watercolor workshop inspired by the fascinating forms and colors of wild mushrooms. This 2-hour workshop invites participants to slow down, observe closely, and translate the shapes and textures of fungi into delicate watercolor paintings.
Jennifer will guide you through approachable techniques for sketching, watercolor washes, layering color, and adding simple details that bring mushrooms to life on the page. The class is beginner-friendly and open to all skill levels.
All supplies are provided, including watercolor paints, brushes, palettes, and reference materials. As always, feel free to bring any of your favorite supplies from home.
Class Highlights:
Learn simple sketching and transferring techniques
Intro to color theory
Explore color layering wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques for texture
What You’ll Take Away:
Beginner-friendly color-mixing skills
A variety of watercolor techniques
Completed watercolor mushroom paintings
Important Notes:
This indoor class is geared toward adults and mature attention spans. Responsible children may attend but must be accompanied by an adult. All participants, including adult chaperones, must purchase a ticket.
This workshop takes place at the lovely Swoon Studio in Old Folsom. Please arrive in time for public parking in this historic neighborhood.
