Workshop Description: Join local artist Jennifer Peart for this unique watercolor workshop painting outside together at Hedgerow Farms. A little about Hedgerow Farms:
Our class will be held at Hedgerow Farms, a 300-acre property in Winters, CA dedicated to native seed production and preservation. As a leader in ecological restoration, the farm features meticulously cultivated plots of California native wildflowers and grasses. As part of our workshop, we will be walking the property to find our perfect painting spot and touring with Hedgerow Farms’s Restoration Ecologist, Dr. Julia Michaels. Julia describes the work they do as “creating their own superbloom.” Hedgerow Farms collects small amounts of wild seed with permission from natural habitats, then amplifies them into thousands of pounds for restoration projects across the state. These seeds play a critical role in post-wildfire recovery, floodplain stabilization, and creating healthy habitats for pollinators and wildlife. All workshop participants will be painting outdoors surrounded by the diverse textures and colors of over 400 native species, offering a unique opportunity to capture the intersection of agriculture, art, and conservation.
