Salmon's Freedon Flow - Framed original painting

$3,750.00

"Salmon's Freedom Flow" is a visionary landscape celebrating the undamming of the Klamath River after more than a century of obstruction and a 20-year battle for restoration. Centered on the former J.C. Boyle dam site near Keno, Oregon, this piece reflects a place where the river now runs free for the first time in over 100 years. It honors the unwavering leadership of the Yurok, Karuk, Hoopa Valley, and Klamath Tribes, whose decades of advocacy - galvanized by the devastating 2002 fish kill - sparked the “Undam the Klamath” movement and ultimately led to the largest dam removal project in U.S. history. With the J.C. Boyle, Copco No. 1, Copco No. 2, and Iron Gate dams removed in 2024, over 400 miles of ancestral salmon spawning habitat have reopened. In this renewed watershed, water runs clearer, ecosystems breathe deeper, and salmon return to their historical grounds - an embodied reminder that healing is possible when Indigenous leadership and ecological stewardship guide the way. Acrylic on wood panel. Framed in a maple float frame.
