Sky Mirror Sanctuary - Framed original painting

$1,500.00

“Sky Mirror Sanctuary” captures the tranquil expanse of Jackson Lake reflecting the mighty Teton Range - where peaks, sky, and water meet in a fleeting yet eternal symmetry. This visionary landscape invites the viewer into a liminal space of quiet power, where sky becomes water and reflection becomes sanctuary.

The painting depicts the lake’s shimmering surface, the grandeur of the mountains, and a cerulean sky. Wisps of atmospheric texture and soft architectural forms echo observatories or spiritual structures, drawing a line between grounded observation and celestial reverence. These forms do not impose - they listen. They are vessels of intention, presence, and prayer, offering a place of pause between the known and the imagined.

Set within Grand Teton National Park, “Sky Mirror Sanctuary” is rooted in the geological and cultural depth of the land. Shaped by tectonic uplift and glacial retreat, the Teton Range is among the youngest and most dramatic in North America, yet the valley it overlooks is ancient - carrying the stories of time before stone. This region is a sacred homeland to Indigenous Nations including the Shoshone, Bannock, Blackfeet, Crow, and others, whose relationships with these lands long predate national park boundaries. Their cosmologies and stewardship remain embedded in the rhythms of this place.

This painting is a meditation on the interrelationship between earth, water, and sky - and on our place within that constellation. It gestures toward the possibility of sanctuary not just as a structure, but as a feeling: one of reverence, reciprocity, and belonging. “Sky Mirror Sanctuary” asks: what does it mean to see the sky in the water, and ourselves in the land?
